For faculty and staff, once the move is made to office 365 for email, the maximum retention on your email is 10 years including archives.  Prior to the upgrade to office 365 you can save emails older than 10 years by using the following directions:  

Enterprise Vault will no longer be available as of May 29, 2020 please back up all data prior to this date.

  1. Open a web browser and go to https://archive.salisbury.edu and select New Enterprise Vault Search


  2. Once inside the Enterprise Vault Search, from the left menu, choose the folder that you would like to search in. 


  3. Select Advanced on the top right corner of the screen next to your name. *Be sure that your name is listed in the upper right-hand corner.


  4. In the Advanced search drop down menus, Select to search by "Date" and choose "Is before" in the drop down next to it. Then, enter the date of 10 years ago to find emails older than 10 years.
    Leave the box checked for "Include attachments" to include emails that contain attachments.

    *You will want to find ALL emails before that date so leave the second search line to "Subject or Content", "Contains any of", and the third box blank. 


    (OPTIONAL) -You can choose to select between two dates to search.  Select to search by "Date" and choose "Is between" in the drop down next to it. Then, enter the first date and the second date that you would like to find emails.
    Leave the box checked for "Include attachments" to include emails that contain attachments.

     
  5. Click on the blue square containing a white magnifying glass to search. 
     

  6. All emails prior to the date given will be listed. You can click on the RECEIVED column header to change it from ascending to descending order.
  7. Highlight the emails you wish to save from the list. To select multiple adjacent items, select the first item, hold Shift, and select the last item. To select multiple nonadjacent items, hold Ctrl and select the items.

    *Emails that are selected are highlighted for easy viewing of the emails that you want to download.
  8. Right click on one of your selected emails and choose Export.


  9. The choose ZIP.

    *Your emails will be saved in a zip file in your downloads folder.  You will see the file downloaded at the bottom of your browser window.

  10. Once the download is complete you can click on the Zip file at the bottom of your screen to open the Zipped folder and view the emails you have downloaded.
